Kumbh Vivah – Meaning, Rituals, and Benefits

Kumbh Vivah

Kumbh Vivah is a sacred Vedic ritual performed to nullify the negative effects of Mangal Dosha (Manglik Dosh) in a person’s horoscope. According to Vedic astrology, when Mars (Mangal) is placed in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house of the birth chart, it creates Mangal Dosha. This dosh can cause delays in marriage, misunderstandings between partners, or even separation.

To overcome this astrological challenge, Kumbh Vivah is performed where the Manglik individual symbolically marries a pot (kumbh), Lord Vishnu, or a sacred tree (Peepal or Banana tree). After this ritual, the person is considered free from the dosh and can marry their desired partner without negative planetary influences.
